I'm in an enterprise environment, updating to new versions of software is not that easy, sorry. I have tried the solutions described (editing values in regedit) but they have had no effect for me, Skype's behavior stays the same. My problem seems to be identical to what is discussed here: I would like it to stop, if the icon just turned to orange direcly without the blinking that would be nice. I find this blinking of the desktop icon to be very irritating. Skype into focus (click the icon for example).
